Troon Station

Troon station was opened by the Glasgow & South Western Railway in May 1892 and was refurbished in the spring of 2004 ready for the Open Golf Championship that year. It was estimated that an extra 100,000 train passengers passed through the station during the week long event at the Royal Troon golf course.
